It is recommended to visit this museum to learn about the history of Carlisle. Despite the nice place, the behavior of the staff was off-putting. It is important for staff at historical places to treat visitors with kindness and hospitality to leave a positive impression.

The Roman Museum is the only part open, but it offers a wealth of historic information presented in a modern and accessible manner. The recommendation to visit the Bathouse site was sensational. This museum is a standout in UK archaeology.

The gardens are great. I visited years ago on a school trip and found it very interesting. I definitely recommend it, even if just for the lovely gardens.
